Was ist ökologisches Design?

Die Auseinandersetzung mit den Umweltproblemen, den energetischen und menschlichen Ressourcen begann bereits Anfang der 1960er Jahre. Die Erwartungen an ein Produkt sollten sich nicht allein auf die Funktionalität und die Ästhetik beschränken. Ökologisches Design hat die Möglichkeit die Produktionsprozesse zu erneuern, die Umweltverträglichkeit zu verändern, Einsparungen bei Energie und Material, Verpackung und Transport sowie die Entsorgung der Materialien zu beeinflussen.

Nachhaltiges Design ist die ausgewogene Verwendung natürlicher, sozialer und ökonomisch verträglicher Ressourcen. Ziel eines solchen Designs ist es das Wohlergehen des Planeten und der zukünftigen Generation zu erhalten. Es gibt verschiedene Definitionen von „nachhaltig“ und „Nachhaltigkeit“. In einer Ausgabe 2006 definiert WAHRIG / Deutsches Wörterbuch „Nachhaltigkeit“ auf drei Weisen:

Does 99% need to suffer, so the 1% can succeed? This text refers to the 1% of the population who is looking for power and have an ideal where they influence the rest of the group (99 percent) with. Especially on economic inequality this is a huge problem. With the 1 percent we mean bank CEO’s and the top of the large corporations.

In our world, 1% of the (wealthiest) people take almost 25 percent of the nations income. They have the best houses, education, doctors and lifestyle. Although they have enough money en wealth, they don’t seem to share with the rest of the group (99 percent).

We live in the age of social media. This means that lots of our conversations happen online through instant messaging, more people get their news from status updates and tweets than newspapers and we spend far too much time watching funny viral cat videos. Social media has revolutionised the way we receive and share information. Consequently the raised fist of activism has been replaced by the quick click of a Facebook like.

Food is too precious to waste

We appreciate food. We appreciate the water, land, energy, money and human labor, that is utilized to produce food. Therefore, we made this short video to show the waste of food in a supermarket daily.

Animal welfare or cruelty? – It is our decision 

I chose this topic because it is an existing dilemma situation in our daily life and we are often faced with the choice, if money or animal welfare is more important for us. It is a decision between moral and greed. The image should encourage people to reflect on their actions and lead to a rethinking.

Prices of hen’s eggs are on the decrease and in some of the discounters you get ten for 99 cent. In order to establish themselves on the market the producers are forced to reduce their production costs. The consumer appreciates those bargains but the animals are the ones, which suffer from such dumping prices.

Where would you like to travel in 2014: to the soccer world championship in Brazil or to the cultural capital Riga in Latvia? Anyway: did you know that Riga is the cultural capital in 2014?

Some countries really spend much money to promote top class sports events, as for example the soccer championships,. But waht does it really mean to the country and the inhabitants? Isn’t there another way to promote a country and to attract visitors? In the European Union we have a cultural initiative since 1985, promotimng cultural capitals. But as every brand, also the cultural capitals need to be promoted. Or should this money be invested towards other things at all?

Verbraucher haben die Wahl: Faire Schokolade - oder Billigschokolade aus Kinderarbeit

Schokohase, Schokoweihnachtsmann, Schokoherz ... egal zu welcher Jahreszeit, egal zu welchem Anlass, Schokolade ist der Inbegriff uneingeschränkten Genusses. Die Lust auf Schokolade ist weiterhin ungebrochen. Eine Statistik auf der Website www.statista.com zeigt den geschätzten Pro-Kopf-Konsum von Schokolade weltweit in ausgewählten Ländern im Jahr 2011. Die Schweiz ist mit 10,55 Kilo pro Kopf der Spitzenreiter. Österreich liegt mit geschätzten 7,05 Kilo pro Kopf auf dem 9. Platz. Klar, ist dass bei einem billigen Preis, der Verbrauch steigt. Aber weiß ich überhaupt, wo und vor allem wie mein Lieblingsdessert hergestellt wird?

Washing your jeans is an unnecessary process that wastes water and other resources. In fact it has been said that Laundering and washing consume the largest amount of resources and the largest carbon footprint in the life of the garment. The water footprint of a jeans as stated by Imagine All the Water, a site created by the European Commission is 9,982 liters of water which is equivalent to washing your lawn for 9 hours straight.

In Germany every person consumes about 3 kg strawberries per year.

What to do if you cannot abstain strawberries in wintertime? And why are strawberries becoming rotten so fast? What do you think, is it really necessary to have every fruit at every time of the year?

The comparison in the picture should activate your consciousness. And our goal is that next Christmas time some people who think about baking a strawberry cake think twice and bake an orange cake instead.

In our time the competition in the business is very strong. There are many different companies and a wide variety of products to choose from. In order to secure a safe place in the market, companies use different paths and diverse sale strategies. The companies often manipulate buyers. The illumination system is often used to make the products more attractive and colorful. This is particularly common in more expensive shops. The main types of lighting used in boutiques are: general illumination, accent illumination and decorative illumination. This lighting can make a customer feel more content and allows the products to stand out and appear somewhat idealistic.
