Im Dokumentationsfilm „Future by Design“ gibt der autodidaktische Sozial-Architekt, Industriedesigner sowie Erfinder Jacque Fresco einen Einblick ins Design einer zukünftigen Gesellschaft. Die dargebotenen Szenarien bzw. Welten weisen dabei eine für ihn ideale soziale Struktur auf, welche es ermöglicht den technologischen Fortschritt unabhängig ihrer Rentabilität voranzutreiben, um somit mehr Ressourcen für die Gesellschaft zur Verfügung stellen zu können.

Wenn ich nicht arbeite, dann reise ich… und am liebsten nach Asien! :)

Mal für dreieinhalb Wochen im Vietnam, über einen Monat in Myanmar oder auch nur kurz für 2 Wochen in Nepal oder Thailand, durfte ich die schönen Flecken der Erde entdecken. Es gab nicht vieles das ich bei meinen Reisen vermisste…
…in ruhigen Zeiten meine Familie
…bei spannenden Erlebnissen meine Freunde
…in unruhigen Nächten mein eigenes Bett

Doch eines habe ich IMMER vermisst..

Der Kurzfilm bietet vielen Studenten der Mediengestaltung sowie generell allen Filmschaffenden die Möglichkeit erste Fußspuren in der Filmbranche zu hinterlassen aber welche (ökologischen) Fußspuren hinterlässt die Produktion eines Filmes in unserer Welt? Welche Maßnahmen kann man setzen um nicht nur vor der Kamera, sondern auch dahinter für einen nachhaltigeren Umgang mit unseren Ressourcen einzustehen und wo liegen die größten CO2-Einsparungspotentiale?

In diesem Blogeintrag möchte ich die Themen, mit welchen ich mich in dem Fach Humanökologie unter der Leitung von Roland Alton-Scheidl auseinander gesetzt habe, diskutieren. Aufgrund des Schwerpunktes Design, den ich im Studiengang Intermedia verfolge, möchte ich mich dabei auf die Gestaltung für nachhaltiges Handeln fokussieren. Der Eintrag soll meine Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeit in der Lehrveranstaltung dokumentieren und untersuchte Schnittstellen von Gestaltung und Nachhaltigkeit visualisieren.

News that a new exoplanet within reach of humans within a few hundred years has rocked society. With the new US budget increasing the funding of NASA drastically from $649 million to $1.2 billion has caused numerous groups to question the motives behind the US government. Many people are questioning why so much money has been cut from welfare such as youth homelessness and the disabled pension to fund this new venture.

NASA has said that the new boost in funding will allow them to engineer intergalactic starships that will allow humans to travel and colonise the ‘new earth’.

Before the Flood is the three-year documentary produced by not only Leonardo DiCaprio, but also Martin Scorsese and Fisher Stevens. Co-creator and director, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Fisher Stevens embarked on an incredible journey to uncover the ugly truth about our planet's climate. Discovering new found evidence in every corner, the two men exposed the question: Will mankind posses the capability of undoing their wrongs, or will all humanity perish due to the sixth mass extinction on this planet?

This film illustrates the interconnectedness of our world and encourages audiences, everywhere, to understand where the breaking point of human consumption lies.

Syoss Sued For Allegedly Making Women’s Hair Green

Hundreds of women are claiming that the popular Red Velvet hair product from Syoss has been causing their hair to turn a certain green color and damaging their scalps.

What kind of hair dye can we still trust after this scandal that Syoss has unleashed? Why did Syoss not call-back all of their products after the first complaints? On the 16th of May, 2017, CNN took the initiative and searched for the answers we are all looking for.

Plastic Paradise

The 20th century was shaped by a new world of cheap, convenient and disposable products. The lead, takes certainly the material called plastic. Scientists invented it and presented it as a perfect creation, because its indestructible. Particularly, it served the American army in the world war 2, when 85% of the plastic production was made for the military.

Nowadays you are often confronted with terms like “plastic islands” in the ocean. Nobody knows how they look like nor where they are – but does this problem even exist?

This is 400% more than the amount we consumed just two decades ago. “ The True Cost examines the real cost of fast fashion and garment production in the 21st century from a variety of aspects, these include the environmental impact, the health and social impact upon workers, the economic reasons behind why these conditions are so common and the psychological reasons detailing how the consumer impacted the rise of fast fashion.

In the year 2014, Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated as a United Nations. This title is given by OSN activities. It was the first time that Martin Scorsese (director) and Fisher Stevens (producer) came to the scene. As Leonardo DiCaprio describes: 

“We went to every corner of the globe to document the devastating impacts of climate change and questioned humanity's ability to reverse what may be the most catastrophic problem mankind has ever faced.” [1]
