Welche Fakten führt man zuerst an, wenn man über das Thema Lebensmittelverschwendung spricht? Vielleicht, dass man mit der Menge an verschwendeten Nahrungsmitteln in Europa und den USA alle hungernden Menschen auf dieser Erde dreimal satt machen könnte.1 Oder dass ein Viertel des weltweiten Wasserverbrauchs für den Anbau von Nahrungsmitteln verwendet wird, die später auf dem Müll landen. Möglicherweise auch, dass in Industrieländern etwa die Hälfte aller weltweit produzierten Lebensmittel weggeworfen wird.2

Ethics in Finance

Some cynics jokingly deny that there is any ethics in finance, especially on Wall Street. This view is expressed in a thin volume, The Complete Book of Wall Street Ethics, which claims to fill ” an empty space on financial bookshelves where a consideration of ethics should be.” Of course, the pages are all blank ! However, a moment’s reflection reveals that finance would be impossible without ethics.

In this sixth edition of the book the author, who also wrote The Seven Signs of Ethical Collapse, compiled and analysed 116 case studies, while also provided a further information about the topic in selected readings. The topics inspect the relations between corporations, public, governments, as well as employees and employer dynamics. Author also supplies discussion questions after each case study, to make reader truly consider the situation.
